2020/2021

I think of 2020, a year of almost horror. Thank God I had a wonderful wife to see me through it–Death was so close more than once. It stared us all in the face so many times. Hand in hand Arleney and i walked through that Shadow. December I thought it caught us but with prayers of family and friends we survived Covid. Then 2021 burst into all its glory. I have never seen our gardens more alive. Arleney and I seem in so much better health!. We have our vaccinations and are enjoying each day God grants us. I would like to share a few more scenes taken in our back gardens.

Missy’s Garden Stake–My Best Yet

I am using more and more sea shells and coral, thanks to both Barbara Kaiser of Florida and Anthony Bozzuto of Florida—Both of them are wonderful artists–They furnish the sea shells and coral, usually following the storms.—-How can I ever thank them!—This Garden Stake was made for my daughter Missy. I incorporated the sea shells and coral with the crystals, and other. The stake you see was cut down a few inches after the photos were taken–was too top heavy, I honestly think this stake is one of my best pieces. I wish I could show it to you in person.

Sam McKamie’s Birds in our Gardens

We have Carved birds (several) through out our gardens. Most were carved by the Great Carver, Sam McKamie of Arkansas. I am going to just show 4. The first two, mounted high on our pergola extensions, just flew in a couple of days ago—one was meant for my daughter Missy as she also has an addition to Sam’s Birds. I have her one coming. Sadly her bird flew up onto the extension and won’t come down.—The 2nd two, painted by me in 1-Shot enamel found a home here a few years ago.—If you love birds I suggest Sam’s. His are some of the best and his birds are very reasonably priced.

Folk Art Monster “Mushroom”

This next piece i will post is what I call true folk art. I started with an idea of sea shells and coral, plus a little bit of driftwood,—And the monster took off. First the driftwood , then across from it, a large sea shell–throw in a little coral—ad more sea shells, and more coral–Don’t forget the Suzan B Anthony dollar—a Holey stone–Oh no, it is falling off the other side! Add more Apoxie Sculpt, OMG, it is starting to harden a little, straighten out—-can’t, it has it’s own mind.–Give up and let it be! And here you have ir—You don’t like it or you love it. Actually, I love the monster—Arleney doesn’t. Two folks thought it was “cool”.. Anyway it has someone it is going to. so I guess it is up to what she thinks! One thing for sure, there will never be another one like it!—Thanks to

Barbara Kaiser

in Florida and to Anthony Bozzuto in Florida for the beautiful sea shells and coral.
